The optical virtual LNB A9884 cooperates with GI FibreMDU Optical Output LNB A9881, using the 1310 nm window. It converts the optical signal to electrical form and provides four independent polarization/band pairs, identical as in the case of typical Quatro LNB for multiswitch systems. The set is recommended for large SMATV systems and installations where the problem is a long distance between the satellite dish and terminal outlets, impossible to solve even using the thickest coaxial cables. The optical signal from the LNB can be transmitted over distances up to several kilometers. The attenuation of an optical cable working in the second transmission window is about 0.4 dB per km. By comparison, the attenuation of a high quality coaxial cable in the SAT IF band is around 20 dB / 100 m.

The virtual LNB - GI FibreMDU Virtual Quatro A9884 - cooperates with GI FibreMDU LNB A9881, using the 1310 nm window. The set is an ideal solution in the case of multiswitch systems. By using this combination, in addition to a freely selectable distance between the dish and the distribution network, we run only a single fiber optic cable, instead of four coaxial cables - it makes the installation process much easier. The change of the transmission medium can be made just at the location of the multiswitch.
SMATV systems based on fiber optics are ideal solutions for:
- sports facilities
- entertainment complexes
- modern housing estates, which - because of the aesthetics - use a single satellite dish
