IFSEC 2007 - 21-24 May, Birmingham, UK. This year's IFSEC Security Industry Awards was, as usual, at highest level, with impressive number of exhibitors and visitors. The event is the world's leading annual security exhibition, so including CCTV, access control systems, fire protection and all security measures.
The trade fair confirmed growing competitiveness of Far East manufacturers. The years when most of professional CCTV systems in China were based on Pelco, Bosch, Siemens, or Panasonic equipment are over. And vice versa, several years ago Far East products were quite unusual in European video surveillance systems.
This year the stands of renown companies were full of Chinese products, of course with their trade marks. A kind of backwardness among the industry tycoons is especially noticeable in IP CCTV technology. The only area which is still dominated by European and American companies is software.
The firms that showed their products were ACTi, Pixord, Sunell, IQinvision and many other recognizable companies.
CCTV solutions are developed on the basis of IP and megapixel cameras. It is especially noticeable in the case of monitoring of cities, towns, and stadiums. The leaders are big companies - ACTi and IQinvision.
