DS-2CD2343G2D-LIZ2UY/SL is a dual-lens turret-style IP camera from Hikvision, equipped with two image sensors, AcuSense 3.0 technology, Smart Hybrid Light intelligent lighting, and an active deterrent function using light and sound (Live Guard). The camera’s design, based on two independent video channels, enables the transmission of two independent video streams using a single network cable and a single IP address. AcuSense 3.0 technology enhances the effectiveness of the surveillance system through advanced classification of human and vehicle objects, reducing the number of false alarms triggered by objects unrelated to site security. The use of both an IR illuminator and LEDs in a single camera enables operation in several modes.
The camera is equipped with two 1/3" sensors Progressive Scan CMOS sensors with a resolution of 4 Mpix and two independent optical modules with lenses having focal lengths of 2.8 mm and 4 mm, providing the Point-to-Point Fixed Zoom function. This solution allows the user to select the appropriate focal length during device configuration, enabling the viewing angle to be precisely adjusted to the specific characteristics of the monitored area. The 2.8 mm lens provides a wide field of view, whilst the 4 mm focal length allows for a narrower field of view and greater detail of the observed section of the scene. A hybrid illuminator with a range of up to 30 m ensures clear visibility even in complete darkness. Support for modern compression standards – H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 – allows for extended recording retention times whilst maintaining high image quality and minimising network bandwidth usage. Additional image enhancement features, such as WDR (120 dB), 3D-DNR, BLC, HLC, AGC and ROI, ensure high-quality recordings in varying lighting conditions. The camera also features a built-in noise-reducing microphone, a speaker and a microSD card slot supporting up to 512 GB. The housing, with an IP67 protection rating and NEMA 4X corrosion resistance, protects the device from the effects of the weather. Power can be supplied via 12 V DC or PoE (802.3at).

The camera model described here is equipped with Smart Hybrid Light technology and has two types of illumination: IR and white light. How the illumination is used is decided by the user by selecting one of three modes- classic IR, white LED light and smart mode. The classic IR mode uses IR illumination in nighttime conditions or when the illumination level is too low. In white light mode, LED illumination is used instead of IR. In smart mode, the camera triggers the LED light when it detects a human or vehicle silhouette, providing a color image. Once the object leaves the detection zone, the camera switches back to IR mode. In addition to illuminating the scene to provide a color image, the LED light has the additional function of deterring an intruder.

This camera is part of the EasyIP 2.0 Plus series with AcuSense technology, which is based on Deep Learning algorithms. With AcuSense, the camera is able to classify detected human and vehicle objects and filter out all false alarms (e.g. animals, rain, cobwebs, moving leaves etc.) with an efficiency up to 98%. This improves the entire monitoring system performance, and the end user only receives information about alarms that meet the criteria. If the filter is not activated for a given event, the camera will detect all objects, as it was the case with previous solutions.

The motion detection has been enhanced with AcuSense technology, allowing events to be filtered for human and vehicle silhouettes. This improves the performance of the entire system and reduces the number of false alarms that reach the user. Once the filter is turned off, detection can continue as before, detecting all objects.

Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

To operate Hikvision devices using mobile phones running the operating systemAndroid or iOS, the Hik-Connect mobile app is available. It can be used to remotely view live footage from DVR recorders, NVR, network cameras, video door phones using Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks, as well as for viewing recorded footage. Operating video door phones via the app also allows you to remotely unlock the electric strike, receive notifications and forward calls from the entry panel to your phone should the occupant be absent. The app supports connectivity via IP addresses and via the P2P cloud. Hik-Connect is also the name of a cloud-based service that enables access to devices when there is no external IP address.
