The APT-5-50 is a gigabit PoE network switch that acts as an extender (repeater) of the LAN and PoE power supply. It is most often used in situations where several network devices (e.g. several IP cameras) need to be connected on a single UTP cable, or where an additional network branch is required.
The device provides compatibility with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards as PoE receivers and IEEE 802.3af/at/bt on all output ports.

Primary uses:
- as a splitter for 4 PoE receivers (IP cameras) supplied from a single UTP cable, e.g. installation of additional cameras in place of the existing ones without changing the cabling
- as a cascade (serial) connection for connecting several PoE IP devices over distances exceeding 100 m UTP
- possibility of local power supply allows the construction of a complex structure of distribution points in extensive installations
The switch can be powered by an external power supply via a screw connector. In this case, LAN port 1 functions as a network port only (without PoE power supply function).
