The APT-3-50 is a gigabit PoE network switch that acts as a LAN extender (repeater) and PoE power supply. It is most commonly used in situations where several network devices (e.g. several IP cameras) need to be connected on a single UTP cable, or where an additional network branch is required. The device combines compact dimensions with high gigabit throughput.
The device provides compatibility with IEEE 802.3af/at standards as PoE receivers and IEEE 802.3af/at on all output ports.
Key features:
- can be powered from another PoE switch using 802.3af, 802.3at or PoE Passive (PoE IN port)
- reinforces and splits the network signal (fully functional 1000 Mbps switch)
- cascade power supply (one switch powers another)
- up to 2 PoE 802.3af/at receivers can be powered
- up to 30 W total power when powered from UTP
- 1,000 Mbps throughput

Primary uses:
- as a splitter for 2 PoE receivers (IP cameras) powered from a single UTP cable, e.g. installation of additional cameras in place of existing cameras without changing the cabling
- in cascade (serial) connection for connecting several PoE IP devices over distances exceeding 100 m UTP
In the case of installation in limited space, it is possible to cut and break out the mounting brackets of the cradle, thus reducing the dimensions of the module.
