ULTIMODE SFP-023M series optical module works with multimode fiber and transmits data at speeds up to 155 Mbps over a distance of up to 2 km.
Optical modules of ULTIMODE series compliant with the SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) standard are modules that convert an electrical signal into an optical fiber signal. The ULTIMODE SFP-023M module works with two multimode fibers (duplex transmission) and transmits the signal at 155 Mbps.
Optical SFP modules of ULTIMODE series used for "duplex" transmission work with optical fibers terminated with connectors of LC type. The main advantage of LC connectors is the small size of the connectors, so they can be used in areas with high density of switching fields. In addition, they have a snap-lock system to prevent accidental removal of the connector.
The ULTIMODE modules cooperate with media converters and majority of switches and routers with SFP slots (also with CISCO equipment) compatible with IEEE 802.3u 100Base-FX standard.
The use of media converters with the possibility of exchanging SFP modules is particularly advantageous when it comes to network configuration changes. Instead of replacing the entire unit/s, it is sufficient to exchange the SFP transceiver/s.
