The DS-2CD2143G2-LI is a Hikvision IP dome camera equipped with a hybrid illuminator and AcuSense technology. The AcuSense technology increases the effectiveness of the surveillance system by eliminating false and nuisance alarms through human/vehicle object filtering. The use of IR and LED illuminators in a single camera allows it to operate in several modes – classic IR, white LED light and smart mode, in which when an object such as a person or vehicle is detected, LED illumination is switched on, allowing observation in color mode. After the object disappears, the camera switches back to IR mode.

The camera is fitted with a 4 MP 1/2.9" CMOS sensor and a hybrid illuminator with a range up to 30 m to ensure proper visibility in low-light conditions. It has a fixed 2.8 mm lens with a viewing angle of 104°. Support for the legacy and latest H.265(+) compression methods allows for the archiving time of recordings to be extended while maintaining excellent image quality and backward compatibility. Additional image enhancement features, such as AGC, 3D-DNR, WDR (120 dB), BLC, HLC, and built-in image analytics (VCA) allow the camera to be used for advanced projects. The IP67 rated housing protects the inside electronic components from adverse weather conditions. The camera can be powered conventionally with 12 VDC or through PoE (compliant with the 802.802.3af standard).

The camera model described here is equipped with Smart Hybrid Light technology and has two types of illumination: IR and white light. How the illumination is used is decided by the user by selecting one of three modes- classic IR, white LED light and smart mode. The classic IR mode uses IR illumination in nighttime conditions or when the illumination level is too low. In white light mode, LED illumination is used instead of IR. In smart mode, the camera triggers the LED light when it detects a human or vehicle silhouette, providing a color image. Once the object leaves the detection zone, the camera switches back to IR mode. In addition to illuminating the scene to provide a color image, the LED light has the additional function of deterring an intruder.

This camera is part of the EasyIP 2.0 Plus series with AcuSense technology, which is based on Deep Learning algorithms. With AcuSense, the camera is able to classify detected human and vehicle objects and filter out all false alarms (e.g. animals, rain, cobwebs, moving leaves etc.) with an efficiency up to 98%. This improves the entire monitoring system performance, and the end user only receives information about alarms that meet the criteria. If the filter is not activated for a given event, the camera will detect all objects, as it was the case with previous solutions.

The motion detection has been enhanced with AcuSense technology, allowing events to be filtered for human and vehicle silhouettes. This improves the performance of the entire system and reduces the number of false alarms that reach the user. Once the filter is turned off, detection can continue as before, detecting all objects.

Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

Hikvision devices can be operated via mobile phones with Android or iOS using the dedicated Hik-Connect mobile application. It can be used to remotely view live video from DVR, NVR, IP cameras, door entry systems using Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks and also to view recorded videos. Operating video intercoms with the application provides also remote opening of the electric strike, receiving notifications and transferring calls from the entrance panel to the phone in the absence of the subscriber. The application allows connectivity via IP addresses and via P2P cloud. Hik-Connect is also the name of the cloud service that provides access to devices in the absence of an external IP address.

The degree of protection (IK rating) against external mechanical impacts offered by electrical equipment housing is defined in the EN 62262 standard. The EN 62262:2003 standard also specifies the conditions of the testing procedure.

The camera has an IK10 rating.
