The ETH-2wire-A-SET is a set of active converters for the transmission of Ethernet data and PoE power using 2 wires, e.g. one pair of twisted-pair UTP cable. The set allows the installation of cameras or other IP PoE devices in places where the replacement of the existing cabling is impossible or uneconomical.

The ETH-2wire-A-TX transmitter is powered from any PoE switch (RJ45 port) and then, using 2 cables, allows bi-directional network communication and power to the ETH-2wire-A-RX receiver together with the PoE IP camera. The LAN output port operates in 802.3af/at/bt standard.
Using a single pair of UTP cable, we can achieve a transmission range:
- up to 800 m for 10 Mbps throughput
- up to 300 m for 100 Mbps throughput
The throughput of the 2wire path is set automatically depending on the stability of the connection. A throughput reduced to 10 Mbps is signalled by switching on an additional 10M LED at the network connector. Allows quick diagnostics of the connection status.
For cables other than twisted-pair UTP, the maximum range and throughput may differ from those specified. Factors such as the quality of the cable, the number of connectors on the cable path, damage to the insulation and environmental conditions at the installation site can affect the actual transmission distance and should be taken into account in the design.
The ETH-2wire-A-SET modules have the option of being powered from external power supplies via additional POWER screw connectors. For correct power supply to PoE receivers, the voltage must be higher than 44 V.
If the unit will be used in a small space, it is possible to cut and break the mounting brackets of the cradle in order to reduce the dimensions of the module.
